Description
The chorion constitutes the fetal part of the placenta and accounts for the major portion of the gestational placenta. In the term placenta, the villous trophoblast is mainly composed of syncytiotrophoblasts, with cytotrophoblasts only scattered sporadically, and the inner layer of the trophoblast is the basement membrane. Abnormal proliferation and functional regulation of trophoblast cells are closely related to the occurrence and development of various pregnancy-associated diseases. Chorionic trophoblast cells are the main structural components of the placental barrier, and the placenta is a vital organ during pregnancy with functions including material exchange and metabolism, hormone secretion and immune defense.
Immortalized Human Placental Chorionic Trophoblast Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
