The mammary gland is located between the superficial and deep layers of the subcutaneous superficial fascia. The superficial fascia extends into the mammary gland tissue to form cord-like lobular septa, which connect to the pectoral fascia at one end and to the skin at the other, fixing the mammary gland in the subcutaneous tissue of the chest. The mammary gland consists of 15-20 lobes, each divided into several lobules, and each lobule is composed of 10-100 acini. These acini are closely arranged around small lactiferous ducts, with their openings connected to the ducts. Mammary epithelial cells are derived from mammary lobules. Together with glandular ducts and adipose tissue, they form a complex network structure in the mammary gland. During postnatal development, growth and pregnancy in humans and animals, mammary epithelial cells undergo a series of proliferation, migration and differentiation under hormonal regulation. Hormonal imbalance, changes in the extracellular matrix and other genetic factors can lead to malignant proliferation of mammary epithelial cells, ultimately resulting in breast cancer. Understanding the characteristics of mammary epithelial cells helps us elucidate the pathological mechanisms of breast cancer and identify new therapeutic targets.

Immortalized Mouse Mammary Epithelial Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
