Description
Cerebral vascular pericytes are distributed in the microvascular system of brain tissue and are key regulators of angiogenesis, vascular stability and function. A typical characteristic of pericytes is a prominent nucleus with scant perinuclear cytoplasm and numerous processes parallel to the long axis of microvessels. These processes taper and encircle the microvascular lumen, providing structural support. Meanwhile, a single pericyte can contact multiple capillaries in the microcirculation via extended processes. Furthermore, the crosstalk between pericytes and endothelial cells plays a crucial role in angiogenesis.
Immortalized Mouse Brain Perivascular Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
