Description
Rat nucleus pulposus cells (rNPCs) are chondrocyte-like cells located in the central nucleus pulposus of intervertebral discs. They are responsible for synthesizing and maintaining the nucleus pulposus matrix (e.g., type II collagen, proteoglycans) and hold important value in research on intervertebral disc degeneration (IVDD), mechanical buffering and spinal homeostasis.
Immortalized Rat Nucleus Pulposus Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
