As an important skin appendage, the most prominent feature of hair follicles is that they constantly undergo a periodic cycle consisting of anagen, catagen and telogen. Hair follicle stem cells are stem cells residing in hair follicles. It is generally accepted that hair follicle stem cells are located in the bulge region at the upper portion of hair follicles and generate various cell types required by the body through self-division and proliferation.
Immortalized Human Hair Follicle Stem Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
