Description

Human extrahepatic biliary epithelial cells (hEBECs) are monolayer columnar epithelial cells lining the extrahepatic bile ducts (e.g., common hepatic duct, common bile duct). They possess bile secretion regulation, mucus barrier formation and immune defense functions, and are crucial in research on biliary tract diseases (e.g., primary sclerosing cholangitis, cholangiocarcinoma) and biliary tract repair.

Immortalized Human Extrahepatic Bile Duct Epithelial Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
