Description

Coronary arteries provide abundant blood supply to meet the high energy demand of the continuous contractile activity of the heart. Coronary artery endothelial cells (CAECs) lining the inner vascular wall are constantly exposed to fluid shear stress, which induces changes in cell morphology and the production of endothelium?derived factors that regulate vasoconstriction and angiogenesis. CAECs also modulate the expression of cell adhesion molecules, thereby controlling and fine-tuning inflammatory responses and fibrinolysis. These physiological properties make cultured CAECs widely used in studying the mechanisms of endothelial dysfunction, the pathogenesis of coronary heart disease and atherosclerosis, and the development of novel therapeutic strategies.

Immortalized Human Coronary Artery Endothelial Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
