Description

2V6.11 cells were derived in 2001 from the human embryonic kidney cell line 293 [HEK-293]. 293 [HEK-293] cells were transfected with the plasmid pVgRXR carrying a Zeocin resistance marker to obtain 293pVgRXR cells. Subsequently, they were transfected with the plasmid pEKORF6 containing the Ad5 E4ORF6 gene encoding the E4 34KDa protein. pEKORF6 is derived from the plasmid pIndHydro which contains a hygromycin resistance gene, and the vector contains SV40 virus sequences.

2V6.11 cell line:

  • was initially isolated as a single clone using cloning rings from culture containing hygromycin,
  • can induce the expression of human adenovirus E4 34KDa protein which can be detected by immunoblotting,
  • can be used as a tool for studying adenovirus E4 oncogenes.
