Description
HEK293 Cell Line Stably Expressing SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein
SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein Cell Line stable expresses SARS-CoV-2 Nucleocapsid Protein (NP). Coronaviruses (CoVs) infect human and animals and cause varieties of diseases, such as respiratory, enteric, renal, and neurological diseases.
The SARS-CoV-2 genome comprises approximately 30,000 nucleotides, which encodes four structural proteins; including spike (S) protein, envelope (E) protein, membrane (M) protein, and nucleocapsid (N) protein. N gene is more conserved than others and stable, with 90% amino acid homology and fewer mutations over time. Among them, N protein is a highly immunogenic and abundantly expressed protein during infection. After infection, the N protein enters the host cell together with the viral RNA to facilitate its replication and process the virus particle assembly and release. Furthermore, N protein is frequently one of the targets in vaccine development and serological assays.
