Description

The dental papilla mainly develops during tooth development and is responsible for determining tooth shape. Its primary function is to form the dental pulp. As root development proceeds, the dental papilla is ultimately located at the root apex, adjacent to the dental pulp. Stem cells from the apical dental papilla are derived from incompletely developed apical dental papilla tissues. They possess self-renewal capacity, multidirectional differentiation potential, and in vitro tissue regeneration ability; they are an important source of odontoblasts in the root and play a critical role in root dentin formation.

Immortalized Human Apical Tooth Papilla Stem Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
