Description

Guinea pig tracheal epithelial cells (GPTECs) are pseudostratified ciliated columnar epithelial cells isolated from guinea pig tracheal mucosa. They exhibit mucus secretion, ciliary movement and airway barrier functions, serving as an ideal model for studying asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and respiratory viral infections (e.g., influenza virus, RSV). Guinea pigs share high physiological similarity with human respiratory tracts and are particularly suitable for research on allergic and neurogenic inflammation.

Immortalized Guinea Pig Tracheal Epithelial Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
