Description
Rat aortic smooth muscle cells are primary cells isolated from the tunica media of rat aorta. As vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), they display phenotypic plasticity between contractile and synthetic phenotypes, and are widely used in studies on vascular physiology, atherosclerosis, hypertension and vascular remodeling.
Immortalized Rat Aortic Smooth Muscle Cells were transduced with lentivirus carrying the SV40 gene and puromycin resistance. Tests confirmed that the cells are free from bacterial and fungal contamination, exhibit excellent proliferation potential, and can be passaged 10-20 times in vitro.
