Description
PD-1 / CD279 CHO-K1 Cell Line
Programmed cell death protein 1 is also known as PD-1 and CD279 (cluster of differentiation 279). It is a human protein encoded by the PDCD1 gene. As an immune checkpoint, PD-1 plays an important role in down regulating the immune system. It prevents the activation of T-cells, which in turn reduces autoimmunity and promotes self-tolerance. PD-1 has its inhibitory effect through a dual mechanism:
- promoting apoptosis in antigen specific T-cells in lymph nodes, and
- simultaneously reducing apoptosis in regulatory T cells (suppressor T cells).
Cells Online offers PD-1 / CD279 CHO-K1 Cell Line for research in immune checkpoints and related drug discovery.
