HEK293-FT cell line is from human embryonic kidney cells 293F (F stands for Fast-growth) transformed with SV40 large T antigen.

It is a fast-growing and highly transfectable clone isolate.
It is a good host for producing high-titer lentiviruses.
It is capable of stably expressing the SV40 large T antigen from the pCMVSPORT6TAg.neo plasmid, with the large T antigen expression controlled by the human cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter at high levels.
