Description

NCTC clone 929 (mouse connective tissue) was established in March 1948, a clone of the L cell line.

  • The L cell line was one of the first established continuous cell lines, and clone 929 was one of the earliest clones.
  • The parental L cell line was established from the normal subcutaneous loose connective and adipose tissue of a 100-day-old male C3H/An mouse.
  • Clone 929 was established from the 95th passage of the L cell line using the capillary method to isolate single cells.
  • Testing revealed it is negative for ectromelia virus (mousepox).
